Thank you Sam. Maybe Facebook will let me post this in my NastyWomen group. I'm sure going to try. They keep shutting down everything else on Project2025. Grrrrr.

Thank you, Sam. In 2021, we moved into a 55+ community - when bidding wars were driving up housing prices $25K every 15 minutes. Relieved to have a roof over our heads, we soon discovered that we had thrust ourselves into a community of hardened Republicans, retired military, and Trumpist Catholics.

Unknown to us at the time, the management of this very large, 750-unit community association” had already imposed a “gag order” against any political conversation or fact-posts on its website. Passing conversations with neighbors has revealed, without exception, distrust of Covid vaccines and contempt for immigrants. The mere mention of the horrific fires in California or devastating hurricanes in Florida is met with absolute silence, as if alluding to climate change might get you reported to the community authorities. FOX News plays 24/7 in the community center. Public prayers before a coffee and pastry is expected. In our mid-70s now, we face selling and moving once again. We have no way to reach the retirees here, the very people who need the facts the most. Just sharing with you and your readers a stark reality check from Richmond, Virginia. Housing prices have risen so dramatically in our market since our purchase in 2021, we are considering moving to France for some peace, depending on Macron’s standing in todays’s election.

My heart breaks for you, Carol. That is awful. I hope you can find some peace.

Carol, it saddens me to receive your story. You must make your peace of mind and quality of life your top and only priority. Take the actions necessary that will yield a better safer life going forward.

Oh many thanks, I read this energizing message to stay the course. In the other hand, the author doesn’t come face-to-face with a thousand + neighbors like Alto’s wife pledging loyalty to a vile, twice-impeached felon would-be Strongman. And these loyalists won’t disappear if Democrats win the election. We’ve looked in outlying towns around Boston but price points are far beyond reach. We can still vote (I hope) as expats. But that may change as well with another Trump administration. He will structure Washington such that he and his children will occupy the seat of government for the foreseeable future.

I don't know what to say to this, Carol. You're right that these people aren't going away, but then they've always been with us. If we send them back under their rocks, though, life will be a lot better. We too are looking at leaving. My husband is English so the UK is the logical place. I would much rather not go, however. At this point we're just not sure. As for housing in the US, I would definitely invite you to come to Southern California but it is expensive. You can get a nice condo in my neighborhood for somewhere in the 700s. It's a bit of a red area but nothing like what you're describing. No one has Trump signs, for example. And I'm here!! 😀

Thanks Sam, we do feel paralyzed, imperiled, as if we exist in a dystopian renaissance of Nazi Germany, as if neighbors would report on neighbors if and when Project 2025 materializes. I’m the fish who refuses to be gradually boiled. It’s just that we’re so exhausted from the move in 2021, every decision -what to purge, where should it go?- consumes the day, becomes a last rite. I am grateful your encouragement to find some actual peace. We think Nice, France, Cote d’Azure where the cost of housing is half, and Mother Nature leaves its coastline in peace and sublimity.

Sam, Field Team 6 has just modified its message on postcards to voters to focus on Project 2025. I imagine their texting will do the same. I urge everyone to get involved. There are lots of people who don't know about any of this and will not like it.
